Apollo Group Celebrates 165th Anniversary
165th Anniversary
11 febrary 1847, Gijsbert van den Pol started his Blacksmith shop in Nijkerk, the Netherlands. 165 years later, the now called Apollo Group is still in hands of the van den Pol family. It is the 5th generation, Jack van den Pol that is running the company and the 6th generation, Sander and Claudia van den Pol are already working within the company.
The local one-man shop has developed into an international corporation. With it’s headquarters in Coevorden, the Netherlands Apollo also has a sister company, Ryson International Inc. in the USA. In China for the Azian market, Apollo has a partnership with Hough Fuh.
The Apollo Group is the producer of several Internal Transportation Systems. Apollo VTS, that is part of the Apollo Group, is world wide known with the Spiral Conveyor and the Bucket Elevator. ISC (Inter Service Coevorden) also has customers world wide for the well-know Big Bale Press.
The secret of the 165th anniversary is; To keep customers the primary focus and stay innovative with the products, according to jack van den Pol. Currently the company is innovating the Spiral Conveyor and the Big Bale Press. It easy to say that the entrepreneurial spirit is still running through the veins of the van den Pol family.
