Magnet and metal detector remove all metal particles
All-Metals-Catcher removes ferrous and non-ferrous particles from chemicals
By combining both a magnet with a metal detector in a single system, Goudsmit Magnetic Systems of Waalre has recently made it possible to remove both ferrous and non-ferrous particles from flows of materials. This system, called the All-Metals-Catcher and removes ferrous particles from 25 microns and non-ferrous particles from 0.6mm from powered (bulk) goods, for example in the chemical industry. This type of magnet system is shown at the Achema exhibition in Frankfurt (Hall 4.2, Stand K20). The magnet has a strong magnetic force of 12,000 Gauss and checks materials for iron upon the commencement of production, or the end product just before it leaves the production hall. Thanks to its low overall height, it is possible to incorporate the magnet in an existing production process.
This magnetic pre-sorting means that considerably less product is lost than with detection alone. 70% of metal pollution is often caused by iron and can be removed by magnets. The metal detector fitted after the magnet ejects other metals without a great deal of loss of product. The detectors are not susceptible to external influences (such as: moving metal parts, vibration, frequency controls, etc., and are self-monitoring.
