A.B.S. Silo- und Förderanlagen GmbH celebrates its 40th anniversary
A.B.S. Silo- und Förderanlagen GmbH from Osterburken celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2024 as an internationally active manufacturer of textile, high-strength fabric silos for agriculture, industry and for the storage of wood pellets.
The company from Osterburken in Baden-Württemberg has been manufacturing stable, flexible silos made of high-strength polyester fabric since 1984, which enable particularly gentle storage of bulk goods.
40 years of A.B.S. silo and conveyor systems
When the word “silo” is mentioned, some people still think of huge, heavy and immovable metal towers. But it can also be more compact, lighter and more flexible: with the Flex-Silos from A.B.S. In the 1980s, company founder Adolf Lesk specialized in a new silo technology. The idea: to use textiles instead of metal. The fabric is just as stable and resilient, but significantly more sustainable and flexible. A design that proved successful.
The company grew rapidly. In 2006, A.B.S. Silo- und Förderanlagen moved into a new company building in Osterburken with 1,300 square meters of office and production space. In terms of sustainability, the energy concept for heat and power supply has consisted of a heat pump, photovoltaics…
