STEINERT is the most experienced supplier of metal separation and handling equipment. Based of this experience we are offering very cost effective durable machinery allowing clean metals and high recovery rates.
In bulk material handling our suspension magnets are used for tramp iron removal. The wet drums separators are working in iron ore mines as well as in heavy media plants for recovering magnetite and ferro silica.
Also our magnetic drums, eddy current separators and sensor sorting systems, for example for stainless steel recovery, are well approved in the recycling market.
Magnetic filters are working successfully in steel plants with more than 90 % recovery of 1 µm-particles.

Expansion of sales activities in America
To further extend its market position in the USA, Steinert opened a new sales office in Chicago on 1 March 2009. With the help of Charles Winum our availability and service in the Northern markets is strengthened now by an experienced employee who has worked for the Steinert Group for many years. Born in America and having been active for Steinert in the mineral and recycling markets in Australia since 2000, Winum is delighted to have this new opportunity, as he can now provide a comprehensive range of advice to customers in the USA. “Introducing our new eddy current separator, the CanMaster®, into the important North American Waste market follows our previous product successes throughout Europe, Japan and Australia", says Charles Winum. "The Steinert name is well respected in the Mineral, Scrap metal and Waste markets, and we are confident that this experience will support our efforts in the American waste recycling industry". …

United in support
Steinert GmbH"s global co-operations don’t only exist on paper. A feeling of togetherness has developed among the employees of the international partners. After watching and hearing the coverage of the bush fires in Australia, the employees of Steinert GmbH in Cologne spontaneously started a fund-raising campaign for the victims of the fires. The money collected was supplemented by a donation from the managing directors at Steinert, resulting in an impressive €1,500 that could be transferred on to the account of the Australian Red Cross. Marcus Heinrich, the Managing Director of Steinert-Sturton Gill in Australia was very impressed by the international willingness to help those in need. The generous donations from Cologne and from Steinert Sturton-Gill in Melbourne raised 1,500 AUD and will contribute to rebuilding the lives of those affected by the bush fires.

Mitsubishi strengthens cooperation with Steinert for the Japanese market
About ten years ago Steinert concluded a partnership agreement for its patented eccentric pole system for non-ferrous metal separators with Mitsubishi. The agreement calls for Mitsubishi to use the tried and tested eccentric pole system in the Japanese market. Due to the positive experiences with the system and the desire to form a closer partnership, the heads of the companies met with the managers of the newly established company Steinert Japan (Tokyo) to strengthen the successful cooperation over the long term. As a result of these negotiations, the management boards of the two companies signed an additional long-term cooperation agreement on 18 February 2009. According to the terms of this agreement, Mitsubishi will not only exclusively use the Steinert eccentric pole system but also employ Steinert’s recently launched sorting systems in its market segments in Japan. In addition, both parties agreed that Steinert Japan will help to set up a demonstration…

Premier of the new eddy current separator CanMaster
The master for coarse material at Steinert Ecomondo in Rimini/Italy and Pollutec in Lyon/France were the venues where Steinert’s new eddy current separator—the CanMaster—was first presented to the world. The reception it received was great! “At last”, said the visitors, “no more compromises. The STEINERT technology is finally available at a good entry-level price". The CanMaster gets its name because its target is coarse pieces of aluminium in waste—usually beverage cans—and machines from STEINERT have been masters of their trade for many years. The CanMaster is something special, made for coarse aluminium, which it captures no matter how well hidden. More than 200 visitors were enthused by its advantages: The low weight, eccentric system, integral controller, compact construction and not least, the price, which—thanks to the specialization on coarse material—is significantly below that of its predecessors. Now its time for the first customer trials and more…

STEINERT`s New Hybrid Technology Promises Efficiency Boost.
Further productivity improvements thanks to new type of hybrid drum from STEINERT The MTE electric magnet drum separators from STEINERT are the global benchmark in metals processing. There’s hardly a shredder operator that doesn’t take advantage of these units’ high separation performance and long service life. STEINERT employees know that an awful lot of design details make this performance possible. One such important detail is the use of anodized aluminium strip for the coils. This coil material offers extremely good temperature resistance — and is manufactured in-house by STEINERT, thus ensuring quality in all details. But there’s no resting on your laurels at STEINERT! The new MTE 340, with its working width of 3.40m, offers considerably more capacity thanks to its width alone. Furthermore, it has been designed from the ground up as a HYBRID system. The third pole is now a permanent-magnet, which increases the scope for even larger electromagnet coils in the separation area and so for an increased working distance. Nowadays, the…

Executive sales management for Steinert separation technology
In line with the dynamic growth of Steinert GmbH, and as a result of the growth strategy that has proved to be so effective in 2007, at company headquarters in Cologne there has been an organizational separation of operative sales management from the expansion of new areas of business and marketing. Eric Adams, who formerly worked in the area of mining, became Head Sales Manager for the Separation Technology business unit effective 1st October 2007. On the same date, Dr. Ulrich Kohaupt became head of the newly created department Business Unit Development. This new department was created to develop future market potential for today’s products and the products of tomorrow. The overall sales strategy will be even more strongly focused on customer needs and active marketing measures. We wish our two colleagues much success with their strategically important missions.
