Up until 2016 RE-Glass Kft., with head office in Orosháza and other yards located in Budapest and Mezőörs, processed 7-8 thousand tons of flat glass per year, while bottle glass – because of the lack of mode rn technology – was only 1-3 tons per year. As there is only flint glass production in Hungary, there was only a market for flint flat and packaging glass domestically. The collected and treated mixed packaging glass was exported as mix-glass. In 2016 Mátyás Máthé became the new owner of RE-Glass. He is assisted by Ferenc Aszódi as Managing director. The reason for this decision Hungary lags behind the EU-wide average and standards for collecting and recycling glass waste. The government of Hungary begun planning to introduce a deposit fee system in 2023 for packaging glass, which would ensure the satisfaction of EU expectations. With the new metal separation unit by Sesotec , highly contaminated plastic granulate can be reliably cleaned of metal contaminants and recovered for reuse in production. The plastics industry is faced with the challenge of producing their products in a manner that is at once circular and highly efficient. Increasing material efficiency is a crucial step towards achieving this goal. In addition to its negative impact on the environment, loss of good material also means productivity losses for plastics manufacturers and processors. Initiatives such as ”Zero Pellet Loss” aim to prevent the waste of plastic granulate. Differentiation of used PET bottles by means of UV fluorescence markers The ”Final Consortium Meeting” of the Polymark project was held at Sesotec GmbH in Schönberg on 7th and 8th February 2017. Polymark was a three-year research project funded by the European Commission that focused on a new technology for the identification and sorting of plastics, particularly PET. The correct detection of plastics and the generation of high-quality secondary raw materials should be further improved. The project involved participants from the complete PET value creation chain.
