Morphologi G3 now offers wet and dry particle characterization The introduction of a new large volume wet cell extends the range of sample types that can be analyzed with the award-winning Morphologi G3 automated particle characterization system from Malvern Instruments. Equipped with the new wet cell accessory the Morphologi G3 measures size, shape and intensity of particles for a wide range of wet dispersions and emulsions. This adds to the system’s existing capabilities which include the analysis of dry powders and characterization of foreign particulate material on filters. Liquid suspensions often present major challenges for analysis using conventional microscopy instrumentation since it is possible to measure only limited sample volumes under a cover slip. Obtaining statistically relevant quantitative data is therefore problematic. With its 2 ml interior volume and large scan area, the new wet cell overcomes these limitations.
