hamos GmbH Recycling- und Separationstechnik counts among the leading suppliers of technologies for separation and recycling of plastics, cables, electronic waste and composite materials, as well as for separation of metals from plastics and other bulk materials. A particular focus at hamos is production and further development of electrostatic separators. Electrostatic separators are, for example, used in particular for sorting of plastics (EKS type), metal-plastic separation (KWS type) and for processing of minerals (EMS type). Electrostatic separators provide satisfaction here through their highest level of efficiency and product purities. Beyond this, the product range is completed by electronic all-metal separators, magnets, colour sorting equipment and complete lines for recycling, such as for electronic waste recycling. Through co-operation with partners in industry and research, hamos also develops, on request, turnkey special solutions for individual separation problems.

Novel recycling system for mixed plastics Pure ABS, PS and PP from electronic waste
Novel recycling system for mixed plastics
Pure ABS, PS and PP from electronic waste hamos GmbH Recycling- und Separationstechnik supplies a newly developed complete system for recovery of high grade, pure plastics from mixtures of plastics that are difficult to separate: clean ABS, PS and PP fractions can be produced in high purity with the hamos KRS recycling plant. Large quantities of mixed plastics arise when recycling electronic waste (WEEE) or automotive shredder residue (ASR). The materials contained here, such as ABS, PS and PP for example, are so heavily contaminated by other plastics, wood, elastomers and metals that further processing is not possible without additional treatment. The hamos KRS recycling system separates out pure plastics from WEEE or pre-treated ASR fractions. The equipment runs entirely automatically und has been designed for three-shift operation. The processing method of the hamos KRS system is so flexible that the most widely different mixtures of plastics can be separated. The previously broken up mixture of…

Separation of contamination from ground PVC window material hamos recycling equipment enables very high PVC purity
Separation of contamination from ground PVC window material
hamos recycling equipment enables very high PVC purity Clean PVC regrind from recycling of PVC window profiles is a valuable raw material, that can be used again for the production of PVC windows. But contamination such as by rubber from seals, polyamide, plasticised PVC, etc are problematic. Such contamination can influence the possibilities of using PVC recyclate or even make the use impossible. The rubber seals are therefore normally separated manually before shredding. This process is laborious however, only allows a low rate of throughput and is therfore not suitable for economic recycling of used windows. The separation process used by hamos works however entirely automatically, i.e. without manual pre-sorting. The PVC window profiles are firstly shredded into regrind, de-dusted and then largely freed of rubber and other contaminants by an EKS electrostatic separator. Use is made here of the different electrostatic charge of rigid PVC compared with rubber and other substances. The PVC has purity of approx. 99.5%…

PVC-free PET flakes Electrostatic Separator separates PVC Contamination
PVC-free PET flakes
Electrostatic Separator separates PVC Contamination It is difficult to separate PVC from PET. Floating-sinking separation of PET flakes in conventional separation equipment does not work due to the difference between the densities being too small. Flotation processes are also not suitable. Separation of entire bottles with the aid of NIR technologies or manual sorting often do not work one hundred percent. The EKS-PET electrostatic separator used by hamos separates practically all of the PVC from shredded, washed and dried PET flakes and produces a clean PET fraction. The mixture of PET and PVC contamination becomes charged in a tribo-electrical manner. Here, the PET particles take on a positive charge and the PVC particles a negative one. After charging, the PVC particles are separated electrostatically from the PET fraction in a high voltage field. Due to the practically complete separation of PVC contamination, the EKS-PET electrostatic separator enables very high PET purity. The PET flakes produced can be used,…
