Milling of abrasive and sticky materials: Easy with NOLL
POWTECH 2023: NOLL’s impact whirl mill DemiNo® is a universal genius and fantastic energy saver. Its impact elements made of hard metal now become even lighter. Impact whirl mill DemiNo® stands out by its worldwide exclusive processing technology, only available at NOLL Processing Technology. It uses far less energy than other milling systems and is remarkably versatile. A pioneering solution, even for hardest stuff DemiNo®’s applications range from enhancing the value of organic material – foodstuffs such as corn or chick peas – to the processing of ceramic products and minerals (Clay, Limestone). Abrasive and sticky products, too… The system easily copes even with extremely hard and coarse materials, where other comparable mills surrender. The system also excels in the ultra-fine processing of metal oxides, and in milling dust-explosive powders. Longer service life of impact elements The DemiNo® rotor is easily adaptable to specific product or process requirements, for example by choosing from a variety of impact elements used. The options include elements made of hard metal. The mill’s rotor can be operated

NETZSCH Impact Mill Condux® Compact Innovation from proven technology and winner of the Food Tech Innovation Award 2020
NETZSCH Impact Mill Condux® Compact
Innovation from proven technology and winner of the Food Tech Innovation Award 2020 The jury of the Fi Europe Innovation Award has selected the fine impact mill Condux® Compact as the winner of the Food Tech Innovation Award for the most innovative technical processing solution for food ingredients. The award is a great recognition for NETZSCH and its development of the compact Condux® Compact impact mill, consistently meeting the requirements of the industry. The technology is available for trials with customer products in the NETZSCH laboratory. The idea of a compact grinding system is not new but existing solutions show significant disadvantages when it comes to cleaning efforts and hygienic design. NETZSCH has therefore improved the decisive points of its Condux® Compact plant concept once again: The footprint or space requirement of the compact plant is 80 % less than that of comparable standard grinding plants with the same throughput capacities. This also has an effect on the investment costs, which are approximately 30 % lower. By using

Variable Speed Rotor Mill - the all-purpose mill for rapid comminution ideal for grinding of tablets, dragées and pharmaceuticals
Variable Speed Rotor Mill - the all-purpose mill for rapid comminution
ideal for grinding of tablets, dragées and pharmaceuticals The FRITSCH Variable Speed Rotor Mill PULVERISETTE 14 grinds rapid and effectively soft to medium-hard, brittle as well as fibrous samples. Even the comminution of samples, which are difficult to grind or temperature-sensitive samples like tablets, dragées and pharmaceuticals are no problem for the PULVERISETTE 14 due to its very efficient air cooling. In addition to the special air cooling of the PULVERISETTE 14, we have developed the FRITSCH-impact blades: Due to its clever design it allows together with a sieve ring a very gentle grinding of the sample, which in many cases without impact blades would not be possible. The result: Increased grinding action for a particularly fast and effective grinding, the heat load is minimized. And the ideal solution for especially temperature-sensitive materials such as powder coatings or plastics, as well as for smoothly pre- and fine grinding of hard-brittle to soft, fatty sample or samples with a residual moisture! NEW: Cyclone for Variable Speed Rotor Mill Optimal for fine grinding of temperature-sensitive samples and for higher throughput!
NEW: Cyclone for Variable Speed Rotor Mill
Optimal for fine grinding of temperature-sensitive samples and for higher throughput! The FRITSCH Variable Speed Rotor Mill PULVERISETTE 14 grinds rapidly and effectively soft to medium-hard, brittle as well as fibrous samples. Due to its very efficient air cooling and the cyclone, even the comminution of difficult to grind samples like temperature-sensitive powder coatings and plastic samples or slightly moist materials such as herbs, leaves or teas are no problem for the PULVERISETTE 14. The efficient air routing inside the PULVERISETTE 14 and the powerful air vortex within the FRITSCH Cyclone cools the sample during grinding, reduces the thermal load of the sample, minimises clogging of the sieve rings while simultaneously increasing the throughput significantly. Also, the cleaning of the mill itself is reduced to a minimum. The air flow inside the FRITSCH Cyclone leads the ground sample directly into the screwed-on sample glass. This type of sample discharge is the most convenient, because the ground material is drawn directly into the glass

The combination makes it possible ... Size reduction of very hard materials with a feed size < 100 mm down to 0.1 mm final fineness
The combination makes it possible ...
Size reduction of very hard materials with a feed size < 100 mm down to 0.1 mm final fineness Wherever large pieces of brittle samples had to be prepared for analysis, many laboratories employed a jaw crusher such as Fritsch"s PULVERISETTE 1 for the pre-crushing stage, since the original feed size was too large to be handled by the final grinding mill. Previously samples could not be prepared for analysis in a single operation because a jaw crusher could not achieve an adequate product fineness and because grinding mills can only handle a limited range of feed size. Fritsch have applied themselves to this particular problem and have developed a disk mill PULVERISETTE 13. In a relatively short processing time this mill can reduce material of a preset grain size to a fineness of minimum 0.1 mm even when processing relatively large samples (up to 20 mm edge length). If the required fineness is of this order but the samples supplied to the laboratory include pieces with an edge length of over 20 mm, Fritsch can supply the perfect solution for this problem: Both

Soymilk 7% more yield
Soymilk
7% more yield For the production of Soymilk Urschel has now designed a 2 in 1 milling system. The soaked or non-soaked beans are being pump fed to the machine with the required quantity of water. Through the impeller the beans are propelled along the tungsten carbide cutting blades producing very small particles. This is done at an impeller speed of 9,000 rpm creating a centrifugal force of over 14,000 g´s on the beans. The impeller blades are shaped in a way that by the enormous centrifugal force the first size reduction takes place; the blades in the microcut head make the final size reduction resulting in uniform particles with a nice peak in the particle size distribution. This peak means there are no big particles and make the extraction maximal. There are also no very small particles causing sedimentation after the decanter has seperated particles from liquid. The result is an increase in yield of upto 7% and no sediment. The capacity of the Comitrol Processor Model 9300 is

New application of Comitrol milling machines
Milling of cacao nibs Successfull tests have been completed recently in the milling of cacao nibs into a homogeneous pumpable paste. The objective of the customer was to obtain a pumpable paste with a particle size smaller than 100 microns which could be fed to a ball mill for final size reduction. Customers problem with the present machine was the penetrating smell of cacao for the environment, which caused him to stop the production line. The Urschel machine used was the Comitrol Processor Model 1700 with micro cutting head and with an impeller speed of 11,000 rpm. The motor power was 40 Hp. The result was a very fine paste with a relatively low temperature after milling of about 55°C. This temperature and the compact practically closed milling system reduces the smell of cacao aroma`s considerably. The capacity of the machine was from 800 - 1,000 kgs/hr.
