As mentioned above, the new oscillating mill operates on the same principle as the previous model. A few new process parameters have been added to the basic functions in order to make the operation of the sieve mill even easier: acceleration of the oscillatory motion by a variable angle, simplified setting of the rotor/sieve distance, step-by-step readjustment of the oscillation amplitude relative to routine wear on the rotor, conversion from rotary to oscillatory motion by the turning of a switch.
It is possible to work in the oscillatory as well as the rotary mode on the same machine. This applies to both the OscilloWitt-3 and the OscilloWitt-6, which not only makes the system more flexible, but also lowers investment costs. Thanks to the new step-by-step readjustment of the oscillation amplitude, the unit requires less frequent maintenance, which in turn lowers maintenance costs. The simple acceleration of the oscillatory motion by a variable angle and the simplified setting of the rotor/sieve distance also ensure greater ease of use.
The OscilloWitt was specifically made for milling and dosing dry, moist, and in particular heat-sensitive and hard-to-process products. The minimum necessary impact power and the continuously variable rotor speed ensure that just the right amount of shearing and friction forces are exerted on the product in order to convey it gently through the sieve. The special process, which is complemented by the tight seals and the automatic cleanability of the system, results in an exceptionally uniform and consistent product quality, which is equally important for processing ingredients in the pharmaceutical industry as it is for preparing flavorings (tea, spices), vitamins, and proteins in the food industry, without mentioning the diverse processes in the fine chemical industry that are based on gentle methods. When the aforementioned applications require continuous documentation of process parameters, the new OscilloWitt can lend a hand here as well. Not only the design, but also the large selection of sieves is responsible for the wide range of applications of the sieve mill: there are round mesh sieves for easily breakable products, square mesh sieves for hard products, and fine sieves that are especially suited for wet milling.
