Sorting installation for rice farm in Suriname

Cameras are used to analyze the colour of each grain of rice individually. With compressed air, each rice grain is then blown into the correct output.
Jansen&Heuning has delivered and installed a sorting installation for Manglie, a rice farm in Suriname. It is not the first project Jansen&Heuning carried out for Manglie; earlier they delivered a transport system for loading fertilizer into airplanes.

In 2021 our engineers delivered an optical sorter ‘Cimbria SEA TRUE’, two elevators of 10 and 12 meters, a self-made pneumatic two-way valve, an exhaust system and all supplies and parts for these machines.

Sorting grains of rice by colour

The optical sorting machine is applied in the flow of rice. Cameras are used to analyze the colour of each grain of rice individually. With compressed air, each rice grain is then blown into the correct output. The use of the sorter leads to good composition and therefore to a better final product.

The two elevators take care of the supply and discharge of the sorter. The extraction system (fan and cyclone) extracts the dust from the process for the proper operation of the sorting machine.

Full service

One of Jansen&Heuning’s strengths is that we can manage the entire process, from quotation to installation. For Manglie the engineering was taken care of by Jansen&Heuning. Subsequently, the right machines were purchased and several parts were developed in-house. After delivery, two mechanics (mechanical and electrical) flew to Paramaribo, Suriname, to supervise the installation process.

Innovative spreading cabinets for precision castings
Jansen&Heuning have developed a series of spreading boxes for CIREX, to evenly spread ceramic powders on a wax model. The innovative installations contribute to optimizing the production process and improving the quality of the cast, steel and metal components. Steel and metal foundry CIREX bv manufactures complex components for global industry; from knife heads and pump parts to transport wheels and sensor housing. These are often high-tech components that must comply with class D3 tolerances, as laid down in the internationally recognized German standard VDG-P690. CIREX uses the ‘lost wax model’ method to produce the precision castings. Wax Tree One of the many process steps in the ‘lost wax model’ method is that a ‘wax tree’ -which consists of a series of wax molds-is coated with a ceramic layer, to eventually arrive at a cast result. The wax tree is imersed in a slurry, raised and then dusted with a ceramic powder (a type of sand), followed by a drying process. This is a cycle that repeats itself seven to nine times. Finally a refractory, ceramic mantle is formed

Screw conveyors for gypsum silo project in Serbia
Jansen&Heuning recently delivered the screw conveyors for the gypsum silo project of Eurosilo (ESI) in Serbia. ESI has a silo solution that combines three logistic functions at the smalles possible footprint: dewatering, storage and load out. And all that fully automatically. The filling screws, screw frames, excavating and spreader screw and the eviscerating screw are manufactured by us on the basis of demanding productions specifications. Some screws have a special non stick coating. In addition, the construction is provided with a special paint system. In short, a high-quality product that fits perfectly with the competences of Jansen&Heuning.

Adjustment installation improves quality of compost
Adjustment installation improves quality of compost
HVC tries to give waste a new life. The waste that can not be processed further, is converted into electricity, heat or green gas. The installation in Purmerend makes compost of organic waste and food leftovers from the green container for fertilizing gardens. Jansen&Heuning has modified the existing installation at HVC Purmerend, whereby an extra screening installation has been built in. This will improve the quality of the compost. The adjustment to the installation consists of screw conveyors JHS500, conveyor belts and platforms. Since the existing installation had to be adjusted, our engineering measured the entire process and worked it out in 3D in order to achieve an optimal connection with the existing installation. “The reason for this investment was to improve the quality of the compost. The cooperation with Jansen&Heuning went well; there was proper consultation and we were able to help each other well. The installation is also doing well; the quality of
