Compatibility with mechanical fasteners

Mechanical fasteners (hinged or plate-style) are commonly used where belts must be joined quickly or where belt thickness or site conditions make vulcanized splices impractical; they are installed with staples, bolts, or rivets and form a load-bearing joint across the belt carcass. AirScrape integrates easily with mechanically-spliced belts because it is mounted above the belt and does not require contact with the belt surface, so the skirting does not interfere with hinge loops, plates, or linking pins used in mechanical splices.
