Types of palletizing solutions: choose the best one
PAYPER offers automatic, conventional and robotic palletizing solutions, adapted to each type of bag, production rate and space.
What is a palletizer?
Before going into detail about the different types of bag palletizing solutions available, we want to clarify exactly what this technology is for. A palletizer refers to an automated system used at the end of the production line to place bags on a pallet in an orderly manner, creating stable, secure loads that are ready for storage, handling, or transport.
Its main function is to automate the palletizing process, reducing manual intervention, optimizing operating times, and improving ergonomics and safety in the industrial environment. To achieve this, there are different types of palletizing solutions that can be adapted to multiple sectors and production needs.
Types of palletizing solutions
In general terms, bag palletizers can be divided into two big categories: conventional palletizing and robotic palletizing. Each of these systems offers different features that make them more suitable depending on variables such as bag format (Valve bagging, Form Fill and Seal Bagging (FFS), or Open-Mouth Bagging), desired production speed, and space limitations in the plant, among others.
Conventional palletizers
Firstly, conventional palletizing is one of the most widely used solutions in industrial processes with high demands on speed, precision, and load stability, with a capacity of up to 2,800 bags per hour.
These types of palletizers are automated and designed to form complete and compact layers of bags, ensuring uniform and resistant stacking, making them particularly effective when working with valve or FFS bags, which do not require overlapping for right placement.
Robotic palletizers (RPAL)
Robotic palletizing has established as a flexible and highly adaptable solution for environments where product variety, palletizing patterns, or space limitation require a more versatile configuration. These systems offer a combination of precision, safety, and efficiency, and can be easily integrated into automated production lines with a capacity of up to 1,600 bags per hour.
Within this category, at PAYPER we highlight three main types according to production level and application type: SCARA, single gripper (R2), and double gripper (R3).
Special features of PAYPER palletizing solutions
In addition to a wide range of conventional and robotic palletizers, PAYPER systems can incorporate a number of special features that further optimize process performance and autonomy. These include bag flatteners, which improve the presentation and stability of the pallet by flattening the bags before they are placed on it. Automatic slip sheet or plastic sheet dispensers can also be integrated to protect the load and reinforce the base of the pallet for safer handling.
For environments with multiple production cycles, the universal empty pallet dispenser automatically feeds new pallets into the line, reducing operator intervention and increasing operational efficiency. These advanced features are fully compatible with the different types of PAYPER palletizers and can be customized according to the requirements of each plant.
