PAYPER palletizer

Types of palletizing solutions: choose the best one

PAYPER offers automatic, conventional and robotic palletizing solutions, adapted to each type of bag, production rate and space.

What is a palletizer?

Before going into detail about the different types of bag palletizing solutions available, we want to clarify exactly what this technology is for. A palletizer refers to an automated system used at the end of the production line to place bags on a pallet in an orderly manner, creating stable, secure loads that are ready for storage, handling, or transport.
Its main function is to automate the palletizing process, reducing manual intervention, optimizing operating times, and improving ergonomics and safety in the industrial environment. To achieve this, there are different types of palletizing solutions that can be adapted to multiple sectors and production needs.

Types of palletizing solutions

In general terms, bag palletizers can be divided into two big categories: conventional palletizing and robotic palletizing. Each of these systems offers different features that make them more suitable depending on variables such as bag format (Valve bagging, Form Fill and Seal Bagging (FFS), or Open-Mouth Bagging), desired production speed, and space limitations in the plant, among others.

Conventional palletizers

Firstly, conventional palletizing is one of the most widely used solutions in industrial processes with high demands on speed, precision, and load stability, with a capacity of up to 2,800 bags per hour.
These types of palletizers are automated and designed to form complete and compact layers of bags, ensuring uniform and resistant stacking, making them particularly effective when working with valve or FFS bags, which do not require overlapping for right placement.

Robotic palletizers (RPAL)

Robotic palletizing has established as a flexible and highly adaptable solution for environments where product variety, palletizing patterns, or space limitation require a more versatile configuration. These systems offer a combination of precision, safety, and efficiency, and can be easily integrated into automated production lines with a capacity of up to 1,600 bags per hour.
Within this category, at PAYPER we highlight three main types according to production level and application type: SCARA, single gripper (R2), and double gripper (R3).

Special features of PAYPER palletizing solutions

In addition to a wide range of conventional and robotic palletizers, PAYPER systems can incorporate a number of special features that further optimize process performance and autonomy. These include bag flatteners, which improve the presentation and stability of the pallet by flattening the bags before they are placed on it. Automatic slip sheet or plastic sheet dispensers can also be integrated to protect the load and reinforce the base of the pallet for safer handling.
For environments with multiple production cycles, the universal empty pallet dispenser automatically feeds new pallets into the line, reducing operator intervention and increasing operational efficiency. These advanced features are fully compatible with the different types of PAYPER palletizers and can be customized according to the requirements of each plant.

PAYPER unveiled new bottom-up filling system at Powtech 2025
At Powtech Technopharm 2025, PAYPER unveiled its bottom-up filling system, ensuring clean, precise, and dust-free bag filling for greater efficiency. At Powtech Technopharm 2025, Europe’s international trade fair for powder, solid and liquid processing technologies, PAYPER presented its latest innovation: the bottom-up filling system, developed to ensure clean, accurate and dust-free bag filling. With this addition, PAYPER expands its portfolio of advanced solutions for bagging powdery products, reaffirming its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and industrial safety. The new bottom-up filling system is based on a vertical screw conveyor equipped with an adjustable outlet opening device and a mechanism that lifts the bag and then lowers it gradually during the filling process. This design allows a minimum distance to be maintained between the dosing point and the product, significantly reducing the free fall of the material. As a result, dust dispersion is prevented and the quality of the working environment is improved, while product losses are minimized. The main advantages of the system include: *

Stainless steel bagging machines for corrosive environments
In industries where corrosive materials like salt, fertilizers, or chemicals are handled, equipment durability is critical. PAYPER has developed specialized versions of its bagging machines tailored to withstand these aggressive environments. While stainless steel components are key to resisting corrosion, PAYPER’s approach goes further. The company redesigns entire systems—including electrical cabinets, sensors, pneumatic fittings, and other sensitive components—with corrosion-resistant materials and construction. This comprehensive adaptation significantly reduces mechanical failures, maintenance frequency, and unplanned downtime. Standard machines exposed to corrosive conditions often suffer from rusted parts, weakened connectors, blocked joints, and frequent breakdowns. PAYPER’s anti-corrosion versions are built to handle tough environments while maintaining performance and allowing for intensive cleaning routines—ideal for industries with high hygiene standards. These solutions are especially suited for bagging corrosive or moisture-sensitive materials like salt and

How to choose the best pallet protection system for your plant
Compare Stretch Hooding, Rotary Ring & Turntable wrappers to find the best pallet protection for your plant’s speed, load, and storage needs. Protecting palletized goods is essential but not every solution fits all production environments. Here’s a quick comparison of three key technologies to help you choose the most suitable system: Stretch Hooding, Rotary Ring Wrapping Machine, and Turntable Wrapping Machine. Speed & Production Capacity: - Stretch Hooding leads in speed, handling up to 120 pallets/hour — ideal for high-volume lines. - Rotary Ring Wrapper handles up to 50 pallets/hour. - Turntable Wrapper suits lower output, up to 30 pallets/hour. Load Stability & Protection: Stretch Hooding offers superior load stability and full protection against dust, humidity, and UV rays, making it ideal for outdoor storage. The other two provide solid indoor protection, depending on wrap layers and tension. Adaptability & Branding: Stretch Hooding adapts well to irregular loads and allows for branded, pre-printed film — perfect for consumer-facing industries. The other systems are best for standard,

Complete Bagging Lines for Hygroscopic and Corrosive Fertilizers
Global fertilizer demand is rising. PAYPER offers specialized bagging and palletizing solutions to tackle challenges like moisture and corrosion in fertilizers The global demand for fertilizers is increasing, driven by a rapidly growing population. Meeting this demand requires an intensified approach to agricultural production, where fertilizers play an important role. However, the fertilizer industry’s unique challenges demand careful consideration, especially when it comes to packaging. At PAYPER, we understand the complexities involved and offer specialized bagging equipment designed to address the corrosive and dusty nature of fertilizers. Hygroscopic challenge One key challenge is the hygroscopic nature of fertilizers, whether in granulate or powder form. Managing moisture becomes crucial, adding an extra layer of complexity to packaging machinery and environmental conditions. Ensuring that the filled bag maintains its nominal weight and appearance throughout its entire lifecycle, from storage to transportation and delivery, is a priority for fertilizer manufacturers. When initiating a bagging and palletizing project,
