Pan conveyors for the transport of pellets for Sohar Pelletizing

AUMUND Fördertechnik GmbH, Rheinberg, has been awarded the order for the delivery of four each deep drawn pan conveyors, troughed chain conveyors and bucket elevators for the Sohar Pelletizing plant Oman of the Brazilian mining group Vale.

AUMUND will deliver four identical deep drawn pan conveyors and four, also identical, troughed chain conveyors. The special conveyors with a center distance of 64 m and a conveying capacity of 760 t/h receive the up to 300 degree Celsius hot pellet material from vibratory feeders. The max. possible handling speed would be 1,125 t/h. The pellets are transported by the deep drawn pan conveyors at a conveying speed of 0.24 m/s to a grizzly feeder. The troughed chain conveyors with a center distance of 47 m are used beneath the pan conveyors to collect possible spillage material so that an almost maintenance-free operation is possible.

Further AUMUND will supply two belt bucket elevators and two chain bucket elevators. The belt bucket elevators with a conveying capacity of max. 800 t/h and 23.5 m center distance are used to handle iron ore. The two chain bucket elevators transport pellets of max. 16 mm and a temperature between 350 and 400 degree Celsius at a conveying capacity from 10 to 50 t/h. The commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2010.
