New TBK Operations Manager: Stefan Huijser

New Operations Manager Stefan Huijser on board at TBK Group

In June Stefan Huijser (40) started his new challenge as operations manager at TBK Group. With an background in engineering and a lot of enthusiasm, Stefan is ready to take operational processes to the next level.

From submarine to vintage car

Stefan’s technical career started underwater, but now he feels perfectly at home in the world of bulk handling and industrial processes. With a broad smile, Stefan Huijser talks about his first weeks at TBK Group: ”I like it, nice people and a great atmosphere. The work is extremely varied, and that appeals to me a lot. My previous jobs were never boring either; it’s nice to feel a new challenge again. For instance, I worked for years at a company in gas detection for large car parks, technology for measuring exhaust gases and controlling ventilation systems. And before that, I spent 10 years on a submarine as a machinist. So the ’dirty work’ and tinkering is no stranger to me.”

When asked why he chose TBK Group, Stefan is clear: ”The match with director-owner Stan Egging and the company’s ambition appeal to me enormously. The large, imposing facilities and the knowledge present in this industry are also fascinating. I notice that the employees at TBK Group have become accustomed to the beautiful projects and therefore realise less how impressive the installations are. For instance, I witnessed the installation of gigantic sieves for gravel. I thought that was really worth a photo opportunity.”

Focus on digitisation and efficiency

In the coming period, Stefan plans to focus on a few spearheads: ”Digitisation of time registration is something we are going to pick up. In addition, my focus is on improving the warehouse and the planning of mechanics and equipment. These three points are the most important right now.” Stefan describes his leadership style as connecting and people-oriented: ”On the submarine, you had to be able to rely 100% on each other. I want to establish that team feeling here at TBK too. I am a people person and capable of getting people on board and making them enthusiastic. Very important in a transition phase that TBK Group is currently in.” Stefan views the future of TBK Group with confidence: ”The market is changing, raw materials are becoming scarcer and our industry is future-proof in this. Waste separation and recycling are becoming increasingly important.”

”Anders Invest” thought leadership

Meanwhile, Stefan is also familiar with the mindset of Anders Invest, which Stan Egging has chosen as a director. Anders Invest is the support partner for TBK Group to realise its growth ambitions. Anders Invest is different. They invest for the long term in Dutch industry. In the industry fund, SMEs from mainly the manufacturing industry find a place. They invest with their own resources and with money entrusted to them by third parties. In addition, Anders Invest operates with a long-term, hands-on and values-oriented focus.

TBK spillage control develops DusTek Spot Filter
Specifically designed for a conveyor transfer point, linking standardized extractor units, for maximum flexibility of filtration surface and exhaust flow The DusTek Spot Filter is specifically designed to be installed at a conveyor transfer point, with the option to link standardized extractor units together for maximum flexibility of both filtration surface and exhaust flow. If required, the extractor units can be supplied with or without a filter housing that is accessible for maintenance from the side of the transfer box. Extractor units which conform to ATEX 114 (Directive 2014/34EU) for use in zone 22 are also available. Avoidance of dust Transfer points in conveyor belt systems are often characterized by the formation of enormous dust clouds, exacerbated by the dust created in the transfer box. This happens because the bulk goods that flow through the transfer box push along the air in the transfer point, while the descending bulk goods simultaneously suck in more air through the available openings: these are significant cubic metres of air, which most transfer points are not designed to deal with. Innovative compost post-processing solution IFE Benelux, Hoving Holland and Indaver develop an innovative compost post-processing solution
Innovative compost post-processing solution
IFE Benelux, Hoving Holland and Indaver develop an innovative compost post-processing solution A new and innovative method for post-processing decomposed fruit, vegetable and garden (gft) waste into high-quality end products which has minimal impact on nature and the environment. At a time when the agricultural sector is under severe pressure, this sounds almost too good to be true. Yet IFE Benelux, Hoving Holland and the industrial waste processor and compost producer Indaver Nederland, jointly succeeded in developing a sustainable, circular and future-proof solution that offers new opportunities for farmers. “We want to process a circular fruit, vegetable and garden (gft) waste stream, so that the compost produced is returned into the food chain as fertilizer”, says Robert de Letter, assets and projects manager at Indaver Nederland. “After the composting process, a mixture of composted and non-composted material remains. Previously, the non-composted residual fraction generally went back into the process, mixed with fresh fruit, vegetable and garden

Contamination and downtime conveyor belts minimised at AEB Amsterdam
StarClean belt scrapers work very accurately and are less prone to wear, says François van den Hoek, installation manager of separation plant at AEB Amsterdam. The Amsterdam waste processing company AEB processes 1.4 million tonnes of waste annually, recycles residual materials and converts heat released from incinerated residual waste into heat and electricity for households and businesses. A sustainable and clean way of producing energy, which requires a streamlined production process without pollution and conveyor belt downtime. ”Dry material is not a problem, but organic wet fraction (ONF) will stick to a belt. TBK Spillage Control has solved this problem by attaching belt scrapers with counter-pressure rollers against the conveyor belt, keeping the conveyor belt clean,” says François van den Hoek, installation manager of the separation plant at AEB Amsterdam. Every day, an average of 150 trucks unload household waste at the waste processor’s separation plant. At the separation plant, various materials are sorted by machine. These include hard plastics, foils, paper, cardboard, beverage cartons, metals and non-ferrous

CenTrax belt trackers with unique swivel bearing
The perfectly sealed swivel bearing, wear-resistant diamond profiled rollers and a sophisticated design make that the CenTrax belt alignment system remains operational under all conditions. CenTrax Operating principle See the video for a graphic display of mounting options and working principle. As soon as the conveyor belt starts to mistrack, the two tapered rollers on the sides will show a difference in the rotation speed. When this happens, the CenTrax belt tracker immediately engage and guides the conveyor belt back to its correct position. Unique swivel bearing The heart of any tracking system is the pivot. A common problem is that dirt, dust and moisture is blocking the pivot, which makes the belt tracker stops working. With our expertise, based on 60 years of experience, we have developed a pivot point – which we call a swivel bearing – that is insensitive to the influences of dirt, dust and moisture. Low in maintenance The swivel bearing is oil bath lubricated and completely maintenance free. Due to wear-resistant diamond profiled rollers and a sophisticated design that prevents build-up of dirt, CenTrax remains operational under
