ScrapeTec on World Tour: From Nuremberg to Jakarta

ScrapeTec, the developers of innovative dust protection solutions for conveyor transfer points, are taking the international stage in September 2023, showcasing their outstanding solutions and innovations at not one, but three global trade shows.
This commitment shows the company’s aim to strengthen its global presence and solidify its leading position in the industry.

The first stop is Mining Indonesia Jakarta, a highly esteemed event in the mining industry, taking place from September 13th to 16th. The ScrapeTec team is happy about the promising prospects in Indonesia, despite having no direct references in this market. Nevertheless, there have been numerous inquiries and strong interest in their products and services. To establish a foothold in this emerging market, they plan to participate in Mining Indonesia. ”This trade show will be the first step in our strategy to enter Indonesia and get to know potential business partners and customers,” said Managing Director Thorsten Koth.

Furthermore, they are pleased to involve their partner from Australia, KINDER PTY, in their efforts. Kinder Australia, is dedicated to providing their customers with the most advanced and efficient bulk handling solutions available. They develop, procure, and deliver innovative products that help customers maximize productivity and streamline their operations. Together, we are confident that we can successfully enter the Indonesian market and open up new opportunities for our company.

Next, the team will participate in the AUSIMM Iron Ore Conference in Perth, Australia, from September 19th to 21st. This event in iron ore production is a platform that attracts participants’ attention and enriches discussions about the future of iron ore mining. After two years of successful collaboration with KINDER PTY in the cement and other bulk materials sectors, ScrapeTec is excited to have its first reference customer in major mines. These mines are located in Western Australia, where the AUSIMM Iron Ore Conference in Perth is currently taking place. The partners anticipate high demand and exciting new projects in this region.

Finally, ScrapeTec will be represented at Powtech in Nuremberg, which runs from September 26th to 28th. This trade show is considered one of the most important events for powder, granulate, and bulk material technologies worldwide.

The September Scrapetec Trading GmbH’s participation in these three prestigious trade shows underscores their commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability in the industry. It is expected that the company will establish crucial contacts, exchange experiences, and explore new business opportunities on these global platforms, while continuing to steer the industry toward an environmentally friendly future.

Effective dust control in mining means substantial cost savings
Scrapetec specialists work continuously on solutions for addressing specific challenges at conveyor system transfer points in industries where dust and material spillage are significant concerns. This encompasses sectors such as mining and quarrying. The risk of explosions caused by dust emissions on conveyor belts is an ongoing problem that engineers around the world are trying to prevent. ScrapeTec experts developed a new dust control system about five years ago, that is proving to be highly effective – not only for preventing dust formation and material spill, but also to minimise the risk of explosion at critical sections along the conveyor route and transfer points and for more efficient belt-cleaning. ScrapeTec products – which are engineered in Germany to pristine quality and environmental standards – are proving to offer even greater operational cost savings in materials handling, than anticipated at the launch of the range. Apart from the benefit of cost savings, DustScrape and AirScrape dust suppression systems are highly effective in minimising exposure of workers to environmental pollution, which is a major problem caused by fugitive dust in dry bulk handling. Although conventional dust

Problem solving in cement production: dust and spills
ScrapeTec work closely with customers in various industries to address dust emissions, material spillage, conveyor belt damage, preventing production downtime, expensive repairs, and hazardous accidents, as seen in a recent project where a cement industry. In a recent project, a cement production plant needed assistance with excessive dust emissions during the handling of clinker, sand and gravel, that were causing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) issues. In addition, the operator faced the problems of costly material spillage and the need for ongoing conveyor belt repairs. A comprehensive site inspection revealed that a standard chute sealing system was used in conjunction with a basic clamping system positioned outside the chute. The existing skirting system and lack of inner skirting failed to contain excessive dust emission and material spillage at the transfer points. High dust levels resulted in poor visibility of the 70-metre-long conveyor tunnel, which negatively affected the maintenance team’s ability to monitor efficiencies during the ship unloading process and to prevent bottlenecks in the production process. “Apart from concerns about safety and environmental hazards, management needed to find

Unique power saving dust protection
Even before the trade fair, the topic of saving electricity through dust protection solutions from ScrapeTec was already a subject of discussion. The focus was on the DustScrape in combination with the AirScrape. Also at SOLIDS 2023,live. ScrapeTec, the developers of innovative dust protection solutions for transfer points on conveyor systems, were also present at this year’s SOLIDS in Dortmund. On March 29th and 30th, they received a large number of interested visitors at their booth, as they did previously at bauma. The focus this time was on the DustScrape, a filter unit placed in the direction of belt travel in front of the chute, which effectively reduces the otherwise accumulating dust to almost zero when combined with the innovative AirScrape side sealing and the TailScrape rear sealing. ScrapeTec presented a more robust upgrade in box form to the previous tunnel solution clad in filter cloth. This dust protection solution has a previously largely overlooked economic effect: dust extractions at the operating sites can be switched off due to the effectiveness of the solution. In other words, the high energy costs for operating the dust extraction systems can be greatly reduced. The high

PrimeTracker new technology for appropriate aligning Easy to install, reliable, controls even for reversible belts
PrimeTracker new technology for appropriate aligning
Easy to install, reliable, controls even for reversible belts New technologies developed have allowed for a much simpler example of a mass imbalance activated tracker. This design uses a flexible coupling in the centre pivot, rather than a fixed axis shaft at 45°. This allows for completely 360° free motion about the centre of the tracker, which has created an inherently reversible design. The steering of the roller is activated by additional mass and friction to one side of the roller, which drags the roller drum forward and steers the belt back to centre. Results in the field have shown there is no downside to this design compared with the fixed axis design, and it has been found that the rubber coupling is a more reliable unit, due to its simplicity and given it is not affected by contamination like a conventional greased bearing.
