Transport company R. Nagel to integrate staff planning, scheduling and rout

New integrated solution developed by ORTEC - R. Nagel is launching customer

Having experienced significant growth in recent years, transport company R. Nagel BV is now looking to improve control of its planning processes by introducing planning systems developed by ORTEC. In the period ahead, R. Nagel will be implementing both the staff planning application HARMONY and the ORTEC-developed Transport & Distribution scheduling and routing system. ORTEC and R. Nagel B.V. are currently in the process of creating a standard link between the two planning systems that will, in the future, be available to other transport companies as well. R. Nagel is the first company to take advantage of this integrated solution.

Time-efficient

By linking the two systems, R. Nagel will be able to implement its staff planning, scheduling and routing processes using a single system. Data regarding staff availability will be forwarded directly to ORTEC Transport & Distribution, from where R. Nagel can assign staff (i.e. the drivers) to vehicles and materials. This step will enable the transport company to save a significant amount of time: “We no longer have to enter and maintain duplicate data”, says R. Nagel project manager Gerrit-Jan Laseur. “We can now do this using a single system. We intend to use this integrated solution to create a superior, more effective scheduling system, which will allow our planners to work more flexibly and will make it easier for us to factor in time constraints”.
