Maximize Your Sorption Analysis Optimize your lab space, accuracy and flexibility with Microtrac’s BELSORP MAX X, the latest model in the BELSORP MAX series.
Maximize Your Sorption Analysis
Optimize your lab space, accuracy and flexibility with Microtrac’s BELSORP MAX X, the latest model in the BELSORP MAX series. This high-precision gas / vapor adsorption analyzer can measure up to four samples over a wide range of pressures and temperatures. BELSORP MAX X covers a broad array of analysis capabilities from specific surface area, pore size distribution, gas and vapor adsorption to chemisorption. Thanks to its compact design, it fits on any lab bench. The analyzer features superior technology to minimize gas leakage and enable ultimate vacuum levels. Temperature in the BELSORP MAX X is carefully controlled, from the heated manifold block (50 °C, optional 80 °C) and air bath to the sample, while electropolished gas / vapor lines prevent surface wetting and corrosion. Additionally, the new BELCONTROL operation software facilitates understanding of the structure and durability of materials through cyclical stability analysis, improves measurement and maintenance efficiency, and sends measurement results via e-mail – all resulting in maxXimized sample throughput.

CAMSIZER 3D - Particle Tracking Reveals True Morphology
The latest generation of dynamic image analyzers in the CAMSIZER series offers a groundbreaking innovation in particle characterization. The CAMSIZER 3D enables a true three-dimensional measurement of the sample. It boasts a unique particle tracking function: the cameras capture several individual images of different orientations of the same particle as it moves through the measurement zone. This technology ensures that the true size and shape values are recorded. Especially for the length measurement of stretched particles (e. g. extrudates) this is a decisive advantage compared to conventional 2D particle analysis, where the particles are captured in arbitrary orientation and do not show their ”true” length. Moreover, the 3D method offers significantly better accuracy for detecting defective or broken particles.

Microtrac MRB acquires Stabino product line from Colloid Metrix
Microtrac MRB has acquired the Stabino product line from Colloid Metrix, the worldwide standard for the measurement of zeta potential and stability in suspensions and emulsions. Microtrac MRB and Colloid Metrix GmbH announce that effective February 15th, 2022 Microtrac MRB has acquired the Stabino product line from Colloid Metrix. The Stabino has been established as a worldwide standard for the measurement of zeta potential and stability in suspensions and emulsions for many years. “We are excited to continue this great legacy” says Microtrac MRB CEO Markus Pauli. “By integrating the Stabino II as Microtrac Stabino Zeta, this technology will become another essential part of our Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) Portfolio.” Margret Boeck, CEO of Colloid Metrix states, “Microtrac MRB is a great fit for the Stabino product line. We are confident that the worldwide Microtrac sales and service organisations in combination with the comprehensive Microtrac product portfolio will ensure top of the line support for users.”

Top 10 Errors in Particle Analysis - And How to Avoid Them
Particle analysis is an integral part of the quality control of bulk materials. Various sources of error can negatively influence the results and should therefore be taken into consideration. Various methods are used for particle analysis, the most common being laser diffraction, dynamic image analysis and sieve analysis. Successful analysis and meaningful results can only be achieved if preparatory steps such as sampling, sample division and sample preparation are carried out correctly. The selection of the appropriate method for the sample material and a meaningful evaluation of the measurement data finally lead to a successful particle analysis. This white paper is intended to provide food for thought to make methods for particle characterization more reliable and accurate.

The Power of the Probe: Dynamic Light Scattering Made Easy
Rapid, simple and reliable particle size measurements in suspensions and emulsions without using consumables - that is possible with the unique probe technology used in the analyzers of the Nanotrac series. The compact units Nanotrac FLEX and Nanotrac WAVE II operate with the Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) method over a wide concentration range, usually without dilution, to measure particle size, zeta potential, concentration and molecular weight. Thanks to the unique, flexible probe design and the use of laser-amplified detection in the Nanotrac FLEX, any suitable vessel can be turned into a sample cell. For Nanotrac WAVE II, a wide selection of measurement cells is available. This design enables sample measurements without dilution and without prior knowledge about the particle distribution, based on the Frequency Power Spectrum (FPS) method instead of classic Photon Correlation Spectroscopy (PCS). The revolutionary fixed optic design of the Nanotrac FLEX probe allows for measurement, for example, in 1.5 ml Eppendorf Tubes® down to one single droplet. As any vessel can be turned into a measurement vessel, the probe can be used at-line as well as in-line to monitor…
